• Brian Regan Sworn In As Redondo Beach's New Fire Chief (patch.com) — Redondo Beach residents are getting a new fire chief from within their own ranks, as Brian Regan is sworn in after 14 years with the department and extensive work with local police and emergency planning. He succeeds outgoing Chief Pat Butler, honored with the Key to the City, and will oversee major Measure FP projects, including replacing Fire Stations 1 and 2 and modernizing public safety facilities.
   

• Good Stuff Strand Cam ends after 25 years, 'swatting' to blame (easyreadernews.com) — Recent 'swatting' hoaxes in Hermosa Beach forced evacuations at Good Stuff restaurant and nearby businesses, prompting the shutdown of the long-running Strand Cam. Because these fake bomb threats require large police responses, Hermosa Beach officers often call in help from neighboring agencies, including Redondo Beach, tying our city's resources into these costly and disruptive incidents.
