• Calif. suspect bites off piece of K-9's ear during SWAT standoff, police say (police1.com) — A police standoff inside a Redondo Beach home ended when a barricaded suspect allegedly bit a police K-9, tearing off part of the dog's ear. The injured dog, Wouter, was treated at a specialty animal hospital and is recovering, while Redondo Beach police have not yet detailed the suspect's underlying charges or any additional counts.
