Sexual Assault Suspect Arrested On Redwood City Bay Trail: Police
A woman was grabbed while running on the trail by a man who then fled, police said.
REDWOOD CITY, CA — A man was arrested Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of sexual battery after assaulting a woman on the Bay Trail in Redwood City, police said.
Redwood City Police officers said they went to the trail around 3:53 p.m. on Tuesday, following a report that a sexual assault had occurred around 30 minutes earlier.
Officers said the victim told them she was running on the trail when she was approached by a man. The suspect asked the victim for the time and if she was running alone. He then began running alongside her before grabbing her and fleeing further down the trail, police said.

The victim described the suspect as wearing an orange sweater, police said.
Officers located a man matching the victim's description in the area and identified him as Carlos Garciajuarez.

Police said the victim positively identified Garciajuarez.
Garciajuarez was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Maguire Correctional Facility for sexual battery, police said.
