• Winners Named in AASHTO 2026 Bridge Challenge (transportation.org) — Rialto High School students brought national recognition home by earning second place in the 11th–12th grade division of AASHTO’s 2026 Bridge Challenge, a major STEM competition in Georgia. Their balsa-wood bridge design, presentation, and testing performance stood out among teams from eight states, highlighting strong local talent and encouraging more Rialto teens to explore engineering and other STEM careers. 
• Update: 2.7 magnitude earthquake shakes close to Rialto, CA on April 15 (fresnobee.com) — A small 2.7 magnitude earthquake shook an area just northwest of Rialto on Wednesday night, with a few residents already reporting they felt it to the USGS. While quakes of this size rarely cause damage, officials urge locals to remember basic safety steps like dropping, covering, and holding on, and to watch for potential aftershocks and post-quake hazards.
• Homeless navigation center breaks ground (iebusinessdaily.com) — Rialto is one of several partner cities backing a new 200-bed West End Regional Navigation Center in nearby Fontana to help move homeless residents into permanent housing. The low-barrier facility will offer shelter plus health care, case management, transportation, and housing placement, reflecting a coordinated effort across west San Bernardino County to address homelessness.
