• 1 dead, 1 hurt in shooting near Sacramento trampoline park on Arden Way, police say (sacbee.com) — A shooting near the Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park on Arden Way left one person dead and another hospitalized Saturday afternoon, according to Sacramento police. Officers say there's no ongoing threat to the public, but they have not released suspect information as they continue investigating the crowded scene near Arden Fair mall.
   

• Roseville man who died in Arden Arcade hit-and-run crash identified by coroner (sacbee.com) — Sacramento County authorities have identified the motorcyclist killed in a recent Arden Arcade hit-and-run as 32-year-old Michael Roa-Syrock Jr. of Roseville. The collision happened Wednesday night on Watt Avenue near Arden Way, and he was pronounced dead at Mercy San Juan Medical Center as the California Highway Patrol continues investigating what caused the crash.
   

• Deer Creek Farm pumpkin patch supports young adults aging out of foster care (kcra.com) — Families from Sacramento can head to Deer Creek Farm in Rocklin for a pumpkin patch that doubles as a major fundraiser for Compassion Planet's programs helping young adults aging out of foster care in Placer and Sacramento counties. Open daily through Oct. 31 with free admission and parking, the farm also needs volunteers and donations to keep its expanding support services going.
