Aftershock Single Day Tickets (audacy.com) — Sacramento rock fans can enter tonight for a chance at free single-day wristbands to the Aftershock 2026 festival in Discovery Park by visiting Rock & Brews on Exposition Boulevard between 6 and 9:59 p.m. Eligible adults from Sacramento and nearby counties can grab a numbered ticket at the 98 Rock table, then listen for drawings every ten minutes to see if they've won.
   

2. Stars of Phineas and Ferb are Coming to SacAnime Winter 2027 (8bitdigi.com) — Sacramento anime fans can start planning now for SacAnime Winter 2027, running January 8–10 at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center downtown. Voice actors from Phineas and Ferb and other hit shows will headline a weekend packed with cosplay gatherings, concerts, panels, and a maid cafe, with weekend passes starting at $50 and more guests still to be announced.
   

3. Man sentenced to 3 life terms plus 51 years was released on parole, Sacramento sheriff says (abc10.com) — Sacramento County officials are raising public safety concerns after revealing that a man once sentenced to three life terms plus 51 years for violent crimes in Chico was granted parole in 2022 and now lives in the county. The sheriff's office released a video questioning how parole was approved and says both survivors and Sacramento residents deserve a clear explanation from state authorities.
   

4. California Bill Could Lift Transit Housing Height Limits (credaily.com) — Sacramento could soon be required to allow much taller housing near major transit stops if Governor Newsom signs AB 2074. The bill would force seven big cities, including Sacramento, to create transit hub districts with minimum height limits up to 150 feet, and up to 450 feet in at least a quarter of those districts, reshaping where and how dense new housing can be built.
   

5. Who on Earth Could Start Game 162 for the Astros? (crawfishboxes.com) — Astros games in West Sacramento this weekend could decide the American League West, with Hunter Brown starting Friday and uncertainty swirling around who might handle a potentially crucial Game 162 at Sutter Health Park.
