Coast Guard Detains 9 Suspected Migrants In Mission Bay
The crew stopped and boarded the vessel, where they identified and detained nine individuals on board, according to the Coast Guard.
SAN DIEGO, CA — The U.S. Coast Guard stopped a boat carrying nine suspected migrants during a boating safety patrol over the weekend in San Diego's Mission Bay.
A crew from Coast Guard Station San Diego, operating a 45-foot response boat, spotted a 22-foot Seaswirl vessel entering the bay at 3:45 p.m. Saturday, according to the Coast Guard.
The crew stopped and boarded the vessel, where they identified and detained nine individuals on board, officials said. The Coast Guard escorted the vessel to a nearby lifeguard dock in Mission Bay.

The individuals were transferred to the custody of U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Imperial Beach Border Patrol Station for processing.
