DUI Patrols Planned Across San Diego County For Fourth Of July Weekend
So far this year, 4,068 people have been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in San Diego County.
SAN DIEGO, CA — Drivers can expect increased DUI enforcement across San Diego County as the San Diego CountySheriff's Office ramps up patrols for the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
Deputies will conduct additional impaired driving patrols Saturday, July 4, and throughout the holiday weekend.
Officials reminded drivers that driving under the influence includes alcohol, prescription drugs and marijuana.

So far this year, 4,068 people have been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in the county. Sheriff's deputies made 593 of those arrests.
The sheriff's office said a DUI arrest and conviction can cost more than $15,000 in legal and court fees.

The holiday enforcement campaign is funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
