SAN DIEGO, CA — To keep your weekend fun and lively, Patch has rounded up some entertaining events going on throughout the San Diego region — from the southern border, to East County, through beach towns, to the uppermost points of North County and communities in between.

Whether you opt for an activity close to home or a mini day trip, see what's slated this weekend from Saturday, Aug. 15 to Sunday, Aug. 16.

  • When: Select dates through Sept. 7
  • Where: SeaWorld San Diego, San Diego
  • What: The festival will feature a new concert series, craft beers from local and regional breweries, and barbecue-inspired dishes and loaded comfort foods.

Family Safety Day: Hanging with Heroes

  • When: Aug. 15
  • Where: Dave & Buster's, Mission Valley
  • What: This free event will feature more than 90 safety partners, safety demonstrations and expert booths, Inflatable jumpers, sensory play, games, kid-friendly activities, character meet-and-greets and more.

  • When: Aug. 15-16
  • Where: Ingram Plaza, San Diego
  • What: The market will more than 120 local artists, makers and small businesses offering handmade goods.

Lego Festival

  • When: Through Aug. 30
  • Where: Legoland California Resort, Carlsbad
  • What: The festival features interactive play zones, live entertainment and hands-on building activities to the theme park. This year's festival features Music, Creative, Chill-Out, Thrill and Play zones.

Lemon Festival

  • When: Aug. 15
  • Where: Third Avenue, Downtown Chula Vista
  • What: The festival will offer two stages of live music, a kids zone, arts and crafts vendors, and food options.

Sesame Summer Splash

  • When: Through Sept. 7
  • Where: Sesame Place San Diego, Chula Vista
  • What: The theme park offers over 18 rides and attractions, live entertainment and more.
