• Criminal Attack on Infrastructure Results in Outage for Local Spectrum Customers (sanfernandosun.com) — Internet and phone customers in San Fernando were hit this morning after Spectrum reported a criminal attack in which fiber optic lines serving several northeast Valley neighborhoods were intentionally cut. Crews are repairing more than 750 fibers and expect service restored by this afternoon, while Spectrum and LAPD investigate and a reward is being offered for tips leading to an arrest. 
• Softball Recap: Arleta's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Five (maxpreps.com) — Arleta High’s softball team, which recently edged San Fernando 5–3, extended its winning streak to five games with an 8–5 playoff victory over Taft. Strong pitching from Brenda Aguilar and power hitting, including a home run from Adriana Vasquez Duran, helped the Mustangs improve to 12–15 and continue their postseason surge.
