Bob Woodruff Foundation And Swords to Plowshares Host National Got Your 6 Summit

The Bob Woodruff Foundation, in partnership with Swords to Plowshares and with generous support from craig newmark philanthropies, will host the National Got Your 6 Summit to discuss pressing issues affecting veterans, service members, military families, and caregivers living in the Bay Area and beyond. 

Each year, the Bob Woodruff Foundation Summit brings together hundreds of public, private, and nonprofit community leaders to discuss how best to support veterans, service members, military families, and caregivers. We host our Summit in a different location each year and always, in partnership with a local Got Your 6 Network partner. These events are made possible by Craig Newmark Philanthropies.

Through these day-long seminars, we work to ensure that the complex needs of the military community are being met. We partner with attendees–elected officials; military leaders; corporate leaders; philanthropists; national, state and local experts; veterans, and service members–to identify the military community’s most important challenges and potential solutions. Prior topics include issues related to food security, housing, employment, health and wellbeing, access to benefits, in addition to transitioning to civilian life and supporting caregivers effectively.

Summit agendas reflect current national trends and incorporate the local insights of the communities in which the events are held–typically a community where there is a significant active-duty and veteran community.
