Fire Crews Rescue Person Trapped Inside Bay Area Garbage Truck
The incident happened in the 100 block of Mason Street, authorities said.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A person was hospitalized early Wednesday morning after fire crews rescued them from the inside of a garbage truck, authorities said.
It's unclear how the person got stuck inside the back of the garbage truck.
Crews responded to the 100 block of Mason Street around 4:11 a.m. after someone flagged the driver down and told them they could hear yelling coming from the truck's hopper, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

Video posted by the San Francisco Fire Department from the scene shows crews removing garbage from inside the truck as they try to reach the person.
A second video shows fire crews carrying the person onto a gurney as loads of garbage bags surround everyone.

Authorities did not identify the person, but said they were taken to a hospital. It's unclear if they suffered any injuries.
