High-Speed Crash Leaves Scooter Rider Dead In SF: Report
Police warned the public to avoid the areas of Powell and Market Streets on Monday morning.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A woman riding a scooter in San Francisco died Monday morning in a "high velocity" crash involving a car, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, which cited fire officials.
Details about the crash were limited as of 1 p.m. on Friday. The San Francisco Chronicle reported that authorities responded around 8:18 a.m. to the area of Market and Powell streets, where they found a woman in the roadway next to a scooter.
The San Francisco Department of Emergency Management warned the public to avoid the areas of Powell and Market Streets on Monday morning, but did not say it was due to the crash.

The woman died at the scene, according to a KRON4 report. A photo from the publication shows police tape and a white tent propped up around the site of the crash.
