'Prolific' Thief Who Targeted Gym Lockers In SF Arrested: Police

The woman also had nine warrants for burglaries, including in Berkeley, at the time of her arrest, police said.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A woman who police described as a "prolific thief" has been arrested on suspicion of burglarizing several gym lockers across San Francisco over the course of five months, police said.

Police say that from November 2025 to March, Andrania Yancy, 40, would visit gyms or fitness studios, get a day pass under a false name and then break into lockers to steal credit cards. She'd then use the cards before the victims knew, according to the San Francisco Police Department.

Following a months-long investigation in which the SFPD worked with a fitness studio in the Marina District, investigators identified Yancy as a suspect in the thefts.
