Crash at Yerba Buena, Hwy 101 On-Ramp Kills Driver in San Jose (rwbpress.com) — A driver was killed early Sunday when a Ford Fusion left the Yerba Buena Road on-ramp to northbound Highway 101 in San Jose, rolled down an embankment, and overturned, closing the ramp for several hours. CHP and San Jose Fire responded, and investigators are examining roadway conditions as the family may have grounds for a wrongful death claim under California law.
   

2. Governor Appoints Chhaya Malik to the Santa Clara County Superior Court Bench (ca.gov) — A new judge is joining the Santa Clara County Superior Court in San Jose, following Governor Gavin Newsom's appointment of Chhaya Malik to fill a vacancy created by a recent retirement. San Jose: Four-bedroom home goes for $4.3 million (mercurynews.com) — A four-bedroom home on Calabazas Creek Circle in San Jose recently sold for $4.3 million, highlighting steep prices in this neighborhood. Nearby Dartmoor Way and Sharon Place properties also closed between $2.3 million and $3.7 million, underscoring the area's strong single-family housing market and high price-per-square-foot values.
   

4. Silicon Valley voters to weigh 'billionaire tax' ballot measure (sanjosespotlight.com) — San Jose readers will help decide California's proposed one-time "billionaire tax," Proposition 40, which could raise about $100 billion for health care, food aid, and education but might also drive wealthy residents out of state. Local voices, including a San Jose State economics professor and leaders from both Democratic and Republican parties, outline sharply different views on whether the measure would ease inequality or harm long-term tax revenues.
