• Man suspected in string of SLO County jewelry thefts arrested (sanluisobispo.com) — A man has been arrested in connection with a commercial burglary in San Luis Obispo and a string of gallery and jewelry thefts across San Luis Obispo County. Investigators say the suspect, a Morro Bay resident with prior felony convictions, is linked to break-ins in Cambria, Cayucos, San Simeon and Templeton, and may be tied to additional cases as the probe continues.
   

• Templeton CHP office gains first female officer in decades (templetonguide.com) — The Templeton CHP office has welcomed Officer Knight, its first female officer in nearly 20 years, bringing a background in education and community leadership. She previously worked with local youth through the Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County and continues to share her musical talents while serving North County drivers and residents.
   

• Pacific Surfliner prepares for World Cup crowds with new reservation requirement (ksby.com) — Train riders in San Luis Obispo should know that Pacific Surfliner trips now require advance reservations through July 19 as Amtrak braces for World Cup crowds in Southern California. The line, which connects SLO to San Diego, will add some late‑night trains on select match days, and officials urge booking early, especially for weekends and peak game dates.
