San Clemente Free Trolley Guide Thursday September 10 2026 (southocbeaches.com) — San Clemente's free summer trolley is running today with three color‑coded lines circulating every 15–25 minutes, connecting neighborhoods with North Beach and the Pier. The service is family‑friendly, ADA accessible, and bike‑ready, and city officials stress that strong ridership is crucial to keeping grant funding and the trolley program rolling in future years.
   

2. World's best surfers, among them plenty of locals, gear up for Trestles Pro (ocregister.com) — San Clemente surfers and fans are at the center of the Lexus Trestles Pro, with a record number of hometown athletes competing at the world‑class break just south of town. Locals can watch elite surfers up close, attend film screenings, autograph signings, and youth mentoring events, while area businesses and young surfers benefit from the global spotlight on San Clemente's surf culture.
   

3. Costal erosion, high tides close Metrolink through San Clemente (foxla.com) — Rail service through San Clemente is shut down as high tides and coastal erosion damage the Metrolink tracks between Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo and Oceanside, with no clear reopening date. Crews are dumping boulders along the San Clemente shoreline while residents and surfers report worsening erosion and shrinking beaches, so travelers are urged to check Metrolink and Pacific Surfliner sites before heading out.
   

4. Dana Point issues emergency declaration as more houses are impacted by monster waves (ocregister.com) — Monster waves and high tides have led Dana Point to declare a local emergency for the Beach Road community just north of San Clemente, where several oceanfront homes are red- and yellow-tagged. With seawalls failing, debris washing toward nearby beaches, and more high tides expected, officials warn residents to stay away from the area and out of the water while long-term solutions are considered.
