Man Shoots Goose To Death In SMC: Police
Prosecutors said the 75-year-old used a pellet rifle to kill the protected bird from his backyard.
FOSTER CITY, CA — A Foster City man has been charged with violating California's Fish and Game Code after prosecutors said he shot and killed a Canada goose Monday with an air-powered pellet rifle.
Patrick Hogan, 75, is charged with a misdemeanor violation of the Fish and Game Code stemming from the incident on Monday, according to San Mateo County Deputy District Attorney Shin-Mee Chang.

Prosecutors said Hogan shot the goose from his backyard using the pellet rifle.
He has since been released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to return to court for a pretrial hearing on Oct. 6.
