Show: 6:30 PM

An intimate solo piano evening with one of New York’s most imaginative jazz voices.

Known for his “high skill and sensitivity” by The New York Times, pianist and composer Chris McCarthy has established himself as one of the most in-demand musicians on the New York jazz scene. Hot House Jazz Magazine has called him “one of the most imaginative and impressive voices on the New York jazz scene.”

For this special solo performance at Meyhouse Jazz San Ramon, McCarthy brings his distinctive voice to the piano in an intimate setting, drawing from his original music and a career shaped by jazz, vocal collaboration, Broadway, and contemporary dance.

McCarthy has released five projects as a bandleader, including Still Time To Quit (2020), Priorities (2022), Life’s a Gig with vocalist Vanisha Gould (2024), Add a Zero (2025), and his latest album, Too Late To Quit (2026), featuring Takuya Kuroda, Vanisha Gould, Eden Bareket, Sam Minaie, and Steven Crammer. Beyond his own projects, McCarthy has toured and recorded with artists including Vanisha Gould, Aubrey Johnson, Broadway stars Joshua Henry and Renée Elise Goldsberry, and the Mark Morris Dance Group.
