The city’s annual Pride festival returns downtown June 27 on North Broadway, separate from the larger OC Pride event that’s also moving back to Santa Ana later this year.

The Santa Ana Police seek two more suspects in the fatal shooting of an innocent bystander (newsantaana.com) — Santa Ana police are asking residents for help identifying two additional people linked to a 2022 shooting that killed bystander Maria Del Refugio Mora near South Main Street. Detectives say suspects in a white sedan opened fire at two juveniles, and explain that anyone involved could face serious murder and attempted murder charges. Tipsters can contact SAPD Homicide or Orange County Crime Stoppers anonymously.

Elderly Santa Ana pedestrian dies after being struck by vehicle (newsantaana.com) — A 78-year-old Santa Ana woman died after being struck while crossing Keller Avenue at Marine Street, despite being rushed to a hospital after Wednesday’s collision. Santa Ana police are still investigating and urge witnesses to come forward, while officials highlight the city’s high rate of pedestrian crashes and the serious legal and financial consequences drivers can face in such fatalities.

Senator Umberg Introduces Comprehensive Chemical Safety Reform Following Garden Grove Incident (einpresswire.com) — Santa Ana residents are represented in new statewide legislation responding to a recent chemical incident in Garden Grove, aimed at tightening oversight of reactive chemical facilities and improving emergency response. Senator Tom Umberg, whose district includes Santa Ana, proposes requirements for risk management plans, backup cooling, better hazard mapping, and stronger CalARP coverage to reduce explosion risks in nearby communities.
