Community Partners in Caring to speak at Solvang Senior Center (syvnews.com) — Seniors and caregivers in the Santa Ynez Valley can learn about free volunteer transportation, errands, and friendly visits at a Community Partners in Caring presentation June 30, 1 p.m., at the Solvang Senior Center. The nonprofit will explain how its services help older adults and people with mild disabilities stay independent at home, and how local residents can get involved as volunteers.

Santa Ynez Valley author donates books to Little Free Libraries across county (syvnews.com) — A Santa Ynez Valley children’s author just stocked 131 Little Free Libraries across Santa Barbara County with her award-winning book, hoping to reach more local kids and families. Debbie Jenae’s project grew from extra copies on hand and a desire to share messages of resilience, self-worth, and hope with young readers far beyond her own neighborhood.

Parade, Festival to Put ‘Pride in Action' Saturday in Solvang (noozhawk.com) — Santa Ynez Valley Pride will bring its fifth Pride Parade and Festival to downtown Solvang on Saturday, starting at 11 a.m. with a family-friendly celebration around Solvang Park. With the theme “Pride in Action,” organizers highlight year-round youth programs, scholarships, and regional LGBTQ+ events, including Santa Barbara’s Pacific Pride Festival planned for August 22 at Chase Palm Park.

5. California Coastal Commission Will Seek Cease-and-Desist Order Against Sable (noozhawk.com) — A major legal fight over the Santa Ynez Pipeline System could affect coastal oil operations that run through Santa Barbara County. State regulators are seeking a new cease-and-desist order and more penalties against Sable Offshore Corp., which recently restarted an idle pipeline despite past violations, environmental damage findings, and an existing court injunction on local oil operations.
