Community invited to 25th Anniversary 9/11 ceremony at County Courthouse (santamariatimes.com) — Local law enforcement and fire agencies are inviting the community to a 25th Anniversary 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at the Santa Barbara County Courthouse Sunken Gardens on Friday, Sept. 11, at 9 a.m. Residents are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets as they honor victims, fallen first responders, and the ongoing commitment to service and unity. 
2. UCSB receives four-year, $20M federal grant for artificial intelligence cloud laboratory - Santa Barbara News-Press (newspress.com) — UC Santa Barbara has secured a four‑year, $20 million federal grant to build an AI‑programmable cloud laboratory at its OASIS hub in Goleta, expanding high‑tech capacity in the Santa Barbara area. Local researchers and startups will share space with remote users nationwide, strengthening the region's role in cutting‑edge science and innovation.
3. National Geographic Explorer to spotlight Santa Barbara's native bees (santamariatimes.com) — Santa Barbara residents can explore the hidden world of native bees when National Geographic Explorer Krystle Hickman presents "A Day of BEEing" on Sept. 9 at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. The evening talk will highlight nearly 100 local bee species, share striking photography, and offer tips on observing and identifying these vital pollinators, with tickets starting at $10 for members.
