• Man accused of murdering grandfather (cbs8.com) — A man was killed in a Santee home on Grand Fork Drive, and his 25-year-old grandson from Santee has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being held without bail. Sheriff's officials say the attack appears isolated and there is no ongoing threat to the community, but the investigation into what led to the violence is still underway.
   

• 2026 Movies In The Park - 'A Minecraft Movie' (kpbs.org) — Families in Santee can head to Town Center Community Park East tonight for an outdoor screening of "A Minecraft Movie," complete with pre-show entertainment and local food and dessert vendors. Because of Santee Community Center construction, the YMCA footbridge is closed and parking is limited, so plan to arrive early and check the organizer's site for any schedule changes.
   

• Olympian vs Santana (maxpreps.com) — Santana High's volleyball team from Santee swept Olympian 2-0 in a non-league match, improving to 11-4 and keeping local fans buzzing. The Sultans now turn their focus to a Grossmont Hills contest against Steele Canyon, giving Santee supporters another chance this week to back a strong squad as league play heats up.
