• Operation Hands Down disrupts Central California gangs (ca.gov) — Selma residents should know local police joined a massive Central Valley gang takedown that led to 69 arrests, dozens of seized guns, and major drug confiscations. The two‑month operation targeted Mexican Mafia and Sureño gang activity across the San Joaquin Valley, and authorities say it should immediately reduce violence in communities like Selma.
