• Sierra Madre Council Cancels November Election, Three Candidates Set to Take Seats (coloradoboulevard.net) — Sierra Madre's City Council has canceled the Nov. 3 election and will instead seat Geoff Woods, Thomas S. Denison, and incumbent Mayor Kristine Lowe by appointment, saving the city about $60,000. Councilmembers debated the tradeoff between fiscal responsibility and voter participation before approving the move 3-1-1, with appointments to be certified in November and new members seated Dec. 15.
