• Soledad Unified confident its policies comply with state, federal law amid DOJ review (localnewsmatters.org) — Soledad Unified School District is under a U.S. Department of Justice review of its parental notification and gender-related policies, but the superintendent says the district already complies with state and federal law. Officials will examine how Soledad Unified handles sex education opt-outs, bathroom and locker room access, girls’ sports participation, and Title IX requirements. District leaders say they’ll fully cooperate and don’t expect immediate policy changes.
   

• The Monterey Herald's All-County baseball team (modbee.com) — Monterey County’s top high school baseball players have been named, with standouts from schools across the region and at least one Soledad player earning honorable mention. The all-county list highlights big bats, dominant pitchers, and coaches who led deep playoff runs. It’s a snapshot of which programs and athletes made the biggest impact this season.
