NASCAR Weekend Bringing Major Traffic To North Bay Roads: CHP
Drivers should expect heavy congestion near Sonoma Raceway through Sunday, according to the CHP.
SONOMA VALLEY, CA —NASCAR weekend is expected to bring heavy traffic to Sonoma County beginning Friday and continuing through Sunday, as thousands of fans travel to Sonoma Raceway.
The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office warned that State Route 121 and State Route 37 will experience the heaviest congestion throughout the weekend, particularly around the raceway.
Officials advised drivers who are not attending the races to avoid the area if possible. Those who must travel on SR-121 or SR-37 should expect delays, remain patient, and use extra caution near the raceway.

Law enforcement also reminded motorists to keep their attention on the road by avoiding cell phone use while driving and to never drink and drive.
