Sierra School of Sonoma County’s Moves Locations to Expand Offerings for Special Needs

The Sierra School of Sonoma County, a local school for students with academic, emotional and behavioral needs, recently celebrated the grand opening of its new campus with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Students had the honor of cutting the ribbon as well as welcoming guests for tours of the building.

The decision to open a new campus was driven by the school’s commitment to serving more students in a space designed to support their needs. Its relocation marks a major step forward, offering larger classrooms that allow students to move freely and engage throughout the day. Sierra School of Sonoma County now includes four classrooms, with two additional classrooms planned to open in the near future, and can serve up to 60 students. It also features a sensory room and direct access to the outdoors, with an on-site playground making it easy to transition between indoor learning and outdoor activity.

School leaders said the expanded space will help meet growing demand for specialized educational services in Sonoma County.
