49ers Owner Arrested For Prostitution In Ohio: Prosecutors

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A San Francisco 49ers owner was arrested over the weekend in Ohio on suspicion of engaging in prostitution, court records show.

John Edward York, who goes by Jed, was arrested on Sunday morning by the East Palestine Police Department in Ohio at a mobile home community during a sting targeting human trafficking, according to court records and a report from The Washington Times.

York was arraigned in Columbiana County court on Monday, where he pleaded no contest to lesser misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools, court records show. It's unclear what tools he had.

"As this is a legal matter, which has been resolved, we will not be providing any further comment at this time," the San Francisco 49ers said in a statement to Patch.

Court records show he also submitted an expungement request and paid $1,150 in fines.

York, a principal owner of the 49ers, is an Ohio native.

This isn't the first time an NFL owner has found themselves in trouble following a human trafficking sting.

New England Patriots owner was charged in Florida with two misdemeanor counts of soliciting another to commit prostitution after a human trafficking sting in 2019. Those charges, however, were eventually dropped.
