Valley Of The Moon Vintage Festival Celebrates Community

SONOMA VALLEY, CA — The Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival will return to Sonoma Sept. 25-27 with a three-day lineup celebrating the 200th anniversary of Sonoma Valley wine, bringing together winemakers, chefs, musicians, runners, and visitors for one of the region's signature harvest-season events.

The weekend opens Friday, Sept. 25, with the Sonoma Valley Harvest Dinner, where hundreds of guests will gather around a communal table on the historic Sonoma Plaza for a seasonal meal prepared by the girl & the fig and paired with Sonoma Valley wines. Organizers say the 2026 festival theme, "Year of Community," highlights the role wine has played in bringing people together throughout the valley's two centuries of winemaking.

Saturday's free daytime festival transforms Sonoma Plaza into a showcase of local food, wine, art, and entertainment. Activities include an 8 a.m. 5K Fun Run and 1-Mile Run, the annual Blessing of the Grapes, the historic Grape Stomp competition, artisan vendors, children's activities, live music, and a Wine Garden featuring tastings from Sonoma Valley wineries.

The celebration continues Saturday evening with the Sonoma Valley Grand Tasting at the historic Sonoma Barracks. More than 50 wineries are expected to pour wines representing Sonoma Valley's five American Viticultural Areas alongside food from local chefs and artisans.

The festival concludes Sunday morning with Bubbles & Brunch, giving guests one final opportunity to celebrate the harvest season before the weekend wraps up.
