South Lake Tahoe altercation leads to alleged stabbing, arrest (southtahoenow.com) — An altercation at a South Lake Tahoe motel on Cedar Avenue Wednesday night left one man hospitalized with a reported non-life-threatening stab wound and another under arrest. Police say the two acquaintances were allegedly using methamphetamine when a fight broke out, leading to multiple felony charges and high bail for the suspect, while the victim’s current condition remains unknown.

Often seen local runner bids goodbye (tahoedailytribune.com) — A familiar face to many drivers and walkers, longtime “Running Man” Lou Littlejohn has quietly left South Lake Tahoe after 25 years to care for his ill brother in Ohio. Sparse snowpack in California fuels concern over fast-approaching fire season (newsreview.com) — South Lake Tahoe’s fire chief and local fire agencies are warning residents that this year’s extremely low Sierra snowpack could mean an early, intense fire season and urging homeowners to start clearing defensible space now. Experts say warm, dry conditions and abundant vegetation statewide are creating a “haystack” of fuel, making early preparation around Tahoe’s south shore especially important.

With more than 25 years of wildland fire experience, he’ll oversee strategy, coordination, and preparedness that directly affect local communities around the basin.
