Cascade Kitchens hosts ‘Plates for a Purpose' fundraiser benefiting the Washoe Tribe DáɁaw Community Center (tahoedailytribune.com) — Tonight’s Plates for a Purpose fundraiser at Cascade Kitchens in South Lake Tahoe will channel a portion of all food and drink sales to the Washoe Tribe DáɁaw Community Center project. Running 5–10 p.m., the event invites locals to simply eat, drink, and gather to support a new cultural, educational, and wellness space for the tribe. Organizers encourage community members to drop in and contribute.
   

2. Action in Tahoe: Heavenly Village Brewfest, Lila Lapanja meet and greet and more! (tahoedailytribune.com) — A packed slate of events is hitting South Lake Tahoe, from today’s Ski Run Farmer’s Market and live music at local venues to this weekend’s Heavenly Village Brewfest and restoration work at Baldwin Beach. Families can also look ahead to children’s summer theater at South Tahoe Middle School and ongoing bird walks at Upper Truckee Marsh. It’s a full menu of ways to get outside, volunteer, and enjoy local culture.
   

3. STPUD board adopts new rates (southtahoenow.com) — Water and sewer bills are going up for South Lake Tahoe residents on July 1, 2026, after the South Tahoe Public Utility District board approved new rates to fund major infrastructure upgrades. A typical home will see about $9.40 more per month, supporting replacement of aging waterlines, sewer pump stations, and wells. The district notes it still has the basin’s lowest combined rates and offers discounts for eligible low-income customers.

Pavelski Talks Maple Leafs Head Coach Job, Excitement Back at Shark Tank, Best Golfers in Hockey (sanjosehockeynow.com) — South Lake Tahoe will host the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament starting July 8, bringing NHL great Joe Pavelski and other sports stars to town. In a wide-ranging chat, Pavelski talks about possibly coaching the Toronto Maple Leafs, his love of golf, and why the revived atmosphere at San Jose’s Shark Tank still excites him.

  • There was a hit and run of a parked blue truck on the street near the intersection of Michael Drive and Colorado last night sometime between 5:15 pm and 8:00 am (night of June 9 into the morning of June 10).
