Cascade Kitchens hosts ‘Plates for a Purpose' fundraiser benefiting the Washoe Tribe DáɁaw Community Center (tahoedailytribune.com) — Tonight’s Plates for a Purpose fundraiser at Cascade Kitchens in South Lake Tahoe will channel a portion of all food and drink sales to the Washoe Tribe DáɁaw Community Center project. Running 5–10 p.m., the event invites locals to simply eat, drink, and gather to support a new cultural, educational, and wellness space for the tribe. Organizers encourage community members to drop in and contribute.

2. Action in Tahoe: Heavenly Village Brewfest, Lila Lapanja meet and greet and more! (tahoedailytribune.com) — A packed slate of events is hitting South Lake Tahoe, from today’s Ski Run Farmer’s Market and live music at local venues to this weekend’s Heavenly Village Brewfest and restoration work at Baldwin Beach. Families can also look ahead to children’s summer theater at South Tahoe Middle School and ongoing bird walks at Upper Truckee Marsh. It’s a full menu of ways to get outside, volunteer, and enjoy local culture.

3. STPUD board adopts new rates (southtahoenow.com) — Water and sewer bills are going up for South Lake Tahoe residents on July 1, 2026, after the South Tahoe Public Utility District board approved new rates to fund major infrastructure upgrades. A typical home will see about $9.40 more per month, supporting replacement of aging waterlines, sewer pump stations, and wells. The district notes it still has the basin’s lowest combined rates and offers discounts for eligible low-income customers.
