Mission-Pasadena-Arroyo Intersection Improvement Project: Join the Oct. 5 Community Meeting (southpasadenan.com) — South Pasadena is asking residents to weigh in on safety upgrades at the Mission Street intersections with Pasadena Avenue and Arroyo Drive during a community meeting on October 5, 2026, at 6 p.m. in City Council Chambers. City staff will share design options to improve crossings, traffic flow, and accessibility near Arroyo Vista Elementary, Arroyo Seco Park, and key transit routes.
   

2. South Pasadena Takes Reins on Holiday Lighting (outlooknewspapers.com) — South Pasadena is taking over planning of the annual holiday lighting ceremony from the Chamber of Commerce, aiming for a larger, more inclusive celebration while keeping its small‑town charm. The city will keep the menorah and Christmas tree lightings, move festivities to the Library Community Room lawn on El Centro, and use existing funds to support expanded performances, crafts, and vendors.
   

3. Finalists Selected for the Pasadena Tournament of Roses 2027 Rose Court (crescentavalleyweekly.com) — Several South Pasadena High School students are among the 28 finalists vying for spots on the 2027 Rose Court, which will be narrowed to seven members on Monday, Sept. 28. Finalists from 41 area schools gain scholarship money, public-speaking training, and community leadership opportunities, culminating in appearances at the 2027 Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game.
   

4. Burroughs Flag Football Registers Shutout Of Temple City 19-0 (myburbank.com) — Burroughs High's girls' flag football team shut out Temple City 19-0 behind five interceptions and a sharp passing game. The season recap notes Burroughs has already faced South Pasadena twice, winning both matchups by wide margins, giving local fans context on how their team stacks up in conference play.
