• South Pasadena Floats Path for Tournament of Roses Site (outlooknewspapers.com) — South Pasadena's City Council has moved toward creating a permanent facility where volunteers can build the city's Tournament of Roses Parade floats, offering a long-term ground lease at the War Memorial lot. The plan would give the nonprofit a dedicated barn and workspace while formalizing how community groups use city property, with new policies guiding long-term agreements and fee reductions.
   

• Resident Finds Military Device During Home Renovation (outlooknewspapers.com) — A South Pasadena resident renovating a home on Grace Drive found what looked like military ordnance, prompting a 911 call and response from local police and the LASD Bomb Squad. Officials confirmed the device wasn't dangerous but destroyed and removed it, and they're urging residents to avoid touching suspicious items and call 911 immediately if they encounter anything concerning.
   

• Football: South Pasadena Shuts Out San Gabriel for Second Win (outlooknewspapers.com) — South Pasadena High's Tigers dominated San Gabriel 31-0 at Ray Solari Stadium, bouncing back strongly to improve their season record to 2-1. With standout performances on both offense and defense, the team now turns its focus to another home game on Sept. 11 against undefeated La Cañada, giving local fans another chance to pack the stands.
