5 Things To Do In Temecula This Labor Day Weekend

TEMECULA, CA — The unofficial end of summer brings a full slate of activities to Temecula this Labor Day weekend.

From a free family preparedness fair and Old Town farmers market to a Champagne Jazz Series concert and three-day Wine Country celebration, here are five things happening around Temecula from Friday through Monday.

1. Shop The Old Town Temecula Farmers Market

The year-round certified farmers market brings local growers, food vendors, flowers and artisan goods to Old Town Temecula each Saturday.

2. Learn How To Prepare For An Emergency

The city’s National Preparedness Fair will give families a chance to meet local disaster-service personnel, learn about emergency readiness and participate in free children’s activities. This year’s event has moved to Promenade Temecula.

3. See Jeffrey Osborne At Thornton Winery

Grammy-nominated singer Jeffrey Osborne will perform as part of Thornton Winery’s Champagne Jazz Series. Saxophonist and vocalist Marqueal Jordan will also take the stage.

Osborne is known for solo hits including “On the Wings of Love” and “Stay With Me Tonight,” as well as his work as the former lead singer of the R&B group L.T.D.

4. Spend Sunday Funday At Vail Headquarters

Vail Headquarters’ recurring Sunday Funday features local vendors, live music, food, a children’s zone and line dancing. The family-friendly event is also pet-friendly.

Train rides are offered Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. when the Temecula Valley Historical Society is open. Tickets cost $3, with children 3 and younger riding free with the purchase of an adult ticket.

5. Celebrate Labor Day Weekend At Leoness Cellars

Leoness Cellars will mark the holiday weekend with three days of wine, seasonal food, vineyard views and live music.

Tony Merlo will perform from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Denis Kavemeier will play from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, and Dave Perry will close out the weekend from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday.

Special offerings will include a sangria and wine bar, grilled tacos and roasted elote Saturday and Monday, along with Sunday brunch. The Leoness restaurant will be closed Monday, though other holiday programming will continue.
