• Linfield Christian girls are making history on the golf course (pressenterprise.com) — Temecula's Linfield Christian School has launched its first-ever girls golf team, already earning a historic tournament top-10 and a dual-match win over Temecula Prep at Temecula Creek Golf Club. Local players and coaches describe building the program from scratch, drawing inspiration from standout alumnae while chasing postseason eligibility and lowering scores at their new home course.
   

• Starting Jan. 1, CA Kids 8 To 16 Must Use Car Booster Seat Unless They Pass 'Five-Step Test': RSO (patch.com) — Temecula parents are being urged by local deputies to double-check car seats during National Child Passenger Safety Week and prepare for stricter booster-seat rules taking effect Jan. 1, 2027. Children ages 8 to 16 will have to pass a detailed "Five-Step Test" before safely switching from a booster to a regular seat belt under California's updated law.
   

• Abbott Laboratories To Pay $385M Over Allegations Of Tainted Infant Formula (patch.com) — Temecula residents should know that Abbott Laboratories, which operates facilities in the city, will pay $385 million to settle state and federal civil allegations over producing some powdered infant formulas under unsafe conditions and with false claims. California will receive more than $15 million in restitution and related recoveries, though Abbott admits no wrongdoing as it continues operating under stricter federal oversight.
