Temecula Dentist Gives Underserved Something To Smile About On National Dentist Day

A total of 46 volunteers make up the Cura Smiles Volunteer Dental program, and this Temecula dentist make the mission possible.

TEMECULA, CA — A Southern California based dental nonprofit is helping to provide free dental services for those in need. Now, a Temecula dentist, Dr. Michelle Chan, a recent graduate of Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, is embarking on the journey to help those in need find their smile.

"We're creating brighter futures, one smile at a time," a spokesperson for the group says.

Chan is at the beginning of both her dental career and her volunteer journey with Cura Smiles, driven by a deep passion for community service, they said.

"She carries forward a powerful family legacy that began with her immigrant grandfather, who came to the United States from Guyana, became a physician, and dedicated his life to giving back, a legacy continued by her father, a fellow Loma Linda graduate, and more than 20 members of the Chan family who have pursued careers in healthcare."

Dr. Chan has already served on dental volunteer trips to Honduras and Mexico, and now will that that commitment to expanding access to compassionate care both locally and globally.
