Truck Strikes Deer Near Anza, Disrupting SR-74 Traffic

California Highway Patrol responded to the scene, where a truck was immobilized after colliding with a deer.

ANZA, CA — A Dodge Durango and a deer collided Friday morning, rendering the truck immobile, California Highway Patrol dispatch reported.

The incident occurred shortly before 8:30 a.m., on State Route 74-east at Devil's Ladder, mile marker 70, just east of Anza, according to CHP.

The truck was not drivable and was leaking fluid, according to the report.

"Everything has moved to the right-hand side of the roadway," according to CHP dispatch. The deer was injured, and it was not immediately disclosed if the animal had perished from the collision.
