• Judges Dismisses Charges Against Torrance Officers Related to 2018 Shooting (mynewsla.com) — Charges against two former Torrance police officers in the 2018 fatal shooting of Christopher DeAndre Mitchell have been dismissed after prosecutors said they couldn’t prove voluntary manslaughter beyond a reasonable doubt. The decision follows years of scrutiny, Black Lives Matter protests at Torrance City Council meetings, and multiple reviews by successive Los Angeles County district attorneys.
