• Back-to-back copper wire thefts leave Tulare County farmers without water (abc30.com) — Farmers in South Tulare County are dealing with repeated copper wire thefts that have shut down irrigation pumps, stressed crops, and caused more than $20,000 in damage for one operation alone. Local ag law enforcement and pump companies say these thefts are now routine, prompting growers to boost overnight security and consider specialized anti-theft systems.

• CVEA wants more info concerning grand jury (recorderonline.com) — Leaders of the Central Valley Empowerment Alliance are challenging Poplar Community Services District’s claim that a Tulare County civil grand jury forced them to issue an eviction notice for the Larry Itliong Center. They’re demanding release of any grand jury directives and warning that removing their programs would further strip one of Tulare County’s most underserved communities of youth, cultural, and emergency support services.
