DA files criminal charge against teacher Matt LaFever (advocate-news.com) — Ukiah residents should know that a former Ukiah High School journalism teacher has been charged with a misdemeanor involving alleged inappropriate communication with a 17-year-old, and he remains on unpaid leave from Ukiah Unified. Police say they seized his devices after a parent complaint and student interviews, and prosecutors confirm the case is now moving forward in court.
