• Teen boy suffers life-threatening injuries in Union City crash (eastbaytimes.com) — A 14-year-old boy was critically injured Friday morning when a silver Mazda sedan and a commercial box truck collided at Alvarado-Niles and Decoto roads in Union City, closing the busy intersection and nearby streets until noon. Both drivers stayed at the scene and cooperated, and police say alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors. Anyone who saw the crash is urged to contact Union City Officer Joseph Goodrich at 510-675-5264.
