• Vallejo homicide suspect pleads not guilty; June court date set (timesheraldonline.com) — A Vallejo man accused in a May 1 fatal shooting and a separate non-fatal shooting has pleaded not guilty in Solano County Superior Court, with a readiness conference set for June 26. Vallejo police say he was arrested after a hospital shooting investigation led to a vehicle pursuit and foot chase through a Vallejo neighborhood before his capture.
   

• Investigator links defendant to Jeep in Vallejo murder trial (timesheraldonline.com) — Jurors in the murder trial of Vallejo resident David Ochoa Magana heard testimony tying him to a Jeep seen driving in Vallejo and believed to be the scene of a 2024 killing, before prosecutors rested their case. A Vallejo police sergeant described license-plate-camera images, bullet damage inside the vehicle, and prior interviews with a key witness as the trial continues in Solano County Superior Court.
   

• From Cadets to Crew (calpoly.edu) — Cadets aboard Cal Maritime’s Training Ship Golden Bear are learning that every safe mile at sea depends on tight teamwork, from engineering watches to emergency drills. Their Summer Sea Term voyage is taking them through ports like Tahiti and Honolulu before the ship returns to Vallejo on July 6, bringing those lessons back to the local waterfront campus.
