LA Restaurant Sushiya, A Celebrity Hotspot, To Close (patch.com) — West Hollywood diners are preparing to say goodbye to Sushiya, the longtime Sunset Boulevard sushi spot and celebrity hangout that will close on September 29 after nearly three decades. The restaurant is inviting locals and regulars to visit one last time, as it joins a growing list of well-known neighborhood businesses recently shuttering amid rising costs.
   

2. Monica Majoli Brings Lesbian History to Life at the Mazer Lesbian Archives in West Hollywood (wehotimes.com) — West Hollywood residents can book free appointments to see Monica Majoli's new exhibition "Countervision" at the June L. Mazer Lesbian Archives on N. Robertson, running September 19 through November 22. The show blends Majoli's drawings with historic materials from the Sisterhood Bookstore, inviting visitors to handle unframed works and engage directly with preserved lesbian and feminist history.
   

3. Byers FPPC Question Raised at County Housing Agency (wehoonline.com) — West Hollywood residents are still waiting for a state ethics ruling on whether Councilmember Chelsea Byers' paid work with a pro-housing group affects her ability to vote on local housing items. This week, two West Hollywood residents raised the unresolved conflict-of-interest question at a county housing agency where Byers serves as an alternate, hoping LACAHSA leaders stay aware while the FPPC considers the city's request.
   

4. After 40 Hours in Line, West Hollywood Pokémon Fan Gets Robbed — Then Tracks His iPhone (wehoonline.com) — On West Hollywood's Eastside, a Pokémon fan waiting more than 40 hours outside the La Brea Best Buy for special trading cards was robbed of his iPhone just before opening time. Using the phone's tracking feature, he and sheriff's deputies traced it to the nearby West Hollywood Gateway area, recovered it, and he declined to press charges despite the early-morning scare.
