Speeding Mustang Brings Down Tree In Deadly San Fernando Valley Crash: Reports

LOS ANGELES — A passenger was killed overnight when a vehicle crashed into a tree in Woodland Hills, according to authorities.

Emergency personnel responded around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday to the 5900 block of North Valley Circle Boulevard, authorities said. The vehicle had been traveling south when it veered into a northbound lane and collided with the tree, according to police.

The car, a blue Ford Mustang, brought down the tree atop the vehicle, KTLA reported, adding speed is believed to be a factor.

The deceased passenger, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. Another man was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening and a third man declined treatment, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Margaret Stewart said.
