• 9 charged after nearly 100 shots fired into Yuba City home (abc10.com) — Yuba City residents are learning that nine people, including two minors, now face attempted murder and gang-related charges after nearly 100 shots were fired into a Stabler Lane home in July 2025. Police say no one was hurt, but bullets hit two houses, and six suspected firearms have been recovered as the investigation continues. Anyone with information is urged to contact Yuba City Police.
   

• Assembly Democrats advance bill aimed at keeping armed officers away from polling places (capradio.org) — A new bill moving through the Assembly would restrict armed or uniformed officers from being stationed within 100 feet of polling places and childcare centers, except during active emergencies. Yuba City’s Assemblymember James Gallagher opposed the measure, arguing it could complicate enforcement and questioning the state’s authority over federal agents.
