Arvada's parking proposal sparks concern among Colorado business owners (wheninyourstate.com) — Arvada City Council has paused its proposed paid-parking program in Olde Town after reviewing more than 4,000 survey responses from residents, businesses, and visitors. For now, street parking rules and the Olde Town Transit Hub garage remain unchanged and free, while officials refocus on improving the Hub and studying broader parking management options that could affect nearby neighborhoods and local shops.
   

2. Arvada designates Sept. 23 'Hengstler Community Day' in honor of late BID director (arvadapress.com) — Arvada is officially marking Sept. 23 as Hengstler Community Day to honor the late Olde Town BID director Joe Hengstler and his impact on the historic district. Alongside the new city‑recognized day, business leaders are launching the Joe Hengstler Vibrancy Grant to help Olde Town businesses fund creative projects that brighten and energize the area starting in 2027.
   

3. Ambassadors in Arvada, Colorado to make Olde Town safer, cleaner for businesses and community (cbsnews.com) — Olde Town Arvada is getting a new ambassador program aimed at boosting safety, cleanliness, and visitor support in the downtown core starting Oct. 1. Four Block by Block ambassadors, funded through a three‑year, $439,000 annual city contract, will patrol Wednesdays through Sundays, assist businesses and visitors, and help connect unhoused residents with services while reporting maintenance issues.
   

4. Arvada food pantry founder cites high prices as factor in low supply (kdvr.com) — An Arvada food pantry, Hope Connection and Community on Reed Street, is struggling to keep shelves stocked as grocery prices rise and donations dip during back-to-school season. Founder Julia Walker says demand from local families is growing, and neighbors can help by donating food, clothing, or items from the pantry's Amazon Wish List listed on its website.
   

5. Child missing from Arvada area found safe (kjct8.com) — An Amber Alert issued for 8‑year‑old Zayden Castillo, last seen Tuesday morning near 52nd and Yarrow in Arvada with a family member, has been canceled after authorities reported he was found safe. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation had warned Stewart might travel toward Grand Junction in a black Ford F‑250 before confirming the boy's safety.
