Arvada city staff presents proposed $412 million budget (arvadapress.com) — Arvada leaders are weighing a proposed $412 million 2027–2028 city budget that tackles rising costs while funding graffiti cleanup, homeless navigation services, cybersecurity, and modest staff pay increases. Officials say revenue growth is slowing, so they're exploring moves like buying streetlights, expanding Majestic View Nature Center, and monetizing the city's fiber network before council votes in October.
   

2. New west Arvada mural highlights local flora and fauna (arvadapress.com) — A new "Veins of Gold" mural is transforming the 66th Avenue underpass on the Ralston Creek Trail in west Arvada, celebrating the area's prairie and mountain ecology. Commissioned by the Arvada Arts and Culture Commission, the large-scale piece is designed to be visible to fast-moving cyclists and walkers and is slated for completion by Oct. 31.

Federal Water Tap, September 28, 2026: DOE Clears a Floating-Solar Test Project for a Small Colorado Reservoir (circleofblue.org) — Welton Reservoir in Arvada is slated to host a federally backed floating solar test project now that the U.S. Department of Energy has found no significant environmental impacts. The project, led by Noria Energy, aims to boost solar output on reservoirs and lower costs, while the broader report surveys national water policy, infrastructure, and assistance debates.
