1. Evacuations ongoing for Spring Creek fire northeast of Aspen (kentucky.com) — Residents northeast of Aspen remain under mandatory evacuation as the Spring Creek fire burns about 15 miles from town near the Eagle–Pitkin county line in White River National Forest. Roughly 95 firefighters are battling the 20-acre blaze amid hazardous dead trees and strong winds, with no containment yet and the cause still under investigation.
   

2. Grant bolsters fundraising efforts at Cavern Springs Mobile Home Park (aspendailynews.com) — Pitkin County is weighing a $1.5 million contribution, routed via the Aspen Community Foundation, to help Cavern Springs Mobile Home Park residents buy their land and stabilize housing for nearly 100 families. Backed by a new $4.5 million Colorado Health Foundation grant and support from Aspen-based media and nonprofits, residents are close to making a competitive offer against a private investment group.
   

3. Xbox CEO Want to Explore New Business Models and Innovations to Keep Project Helix Affordable (thurrott.com) — At a Fortune Brainstorm Tech interview in Aspen Xbox CEO Asha Sharma said soaring memory and storage costs are putting console hardware in a “crisis” and forcing radical new business models for Project Helix. She hinted at more flexible storage, possible abandonment of proprietary expansion cards, and new Game Pass tiers as Microsoft tries to keep high-end gaming affordable.
   

4. Silicon Valley insiders warn U.S. defense supply chain is unprepared for modern warfare (fortune.com subscription) — Top tech and venture leaders meeting in Aspen warn that U.S. defense supply chains and ammunition stockpiles are dangerously behind China’s, especially in drones and critical minerals. Their Fortune Brainstorm Tech panel urged deeper public‑private partnerships and smarter use of AI to modernize weapons production, cybersecurity, and space-based systems before a future conflict tests current weaknesses.
