Robert Redford's daughter talks about legacy of Sundance Film Festival as it moves to Colorado (cbsnews.com) — Boulder is set to host the Sundance Film Festival from January 21–31, 2027, bringing major premieres, visiting filmmakers, and new cultural energy to town. Amy Redford says the move will tightly connect the festival with the Boulder community, including discounted tickets, free screenings, and special opportunities for CU Boulder students to volunteer, intern, and help shape the campus experience.
   

2. Boulder County weighs $2 million in proposed budget reductions (thebadger.news) — Boulder County commissioners are considering about $2 million in budget reductions for 2027 as they confront a much larger structural deficit in the General Fund. Proposed shifts and cuts could affect programs like EnergySmart, the Climate Equity Fund, Mobility for All, and the Juvenile Assessment Center, though no final decisions or service changes have been approved yet.
   

3. Boulder Valley, Northern Colorado home prices lackluster in August (timescall.com) — Boulder's housing market cooled in August, with the median single-family home price dropping 14% year over year to about $1.19 million, the lowest monthly level of 2026 so far. Nearby markets such as Longmont, Loveland-Berthoud, and Estes Park saw flatter or slightly rising prices, giving Boulder buyers and sellers important context on how the broader region is performing.
   

4. Boulder County awards $1.084 million for 153 planned Willoughby Corner homes (thebadger.news) — Boulder County has approved just over $1 million to support 153 new affordable homes at Willoughby Corner in Lafayette, including 32 rentals tailored for residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The funding, paired with bond financing from both Boulder County and Lafayette, sets occupancy and spending deadlines through 2028 and ties for-sale homes to the Boulder Regional Affordable Homeownership Program.
