1. Making It: Boulder Arts Business Cohort Pitch Session and Showcase (bouldercolorado.gov) — Boulder artists will showcase their creative businesses at a free pitch session and showcase on October 29 at the Boulder Public Library's Canyon Theater. Residents can meet cohort members, hear their growth plans, and get insights from national arts leaders, all supported by the City of Boulder's Office of Arts and Culture and the local SBDC.
   

2. Boulder-area cone zones for Sept. 26-Oct. 2 (dailycamera.com) — Expect lane closures and delays across Boulder this week, especially at the Broadway intersections with Regent and Table Mesa and along 28th Street between Pearl and Iris. Boulder County and Longmont drivers will also see closures or delays on Baseline, 120th, Vermillion, Overland, Empire, Ridge, and other key roads as resurfacing, bridge, and safety projects continue through fall and into 2027.
   

3. Boulder keeps 30 Flock license-plate readers running during review (thebadger.news) — Boulder is keeping its 30 Flock license-plate reader cameras running while it pauses the search for a long-term vendor and rethinks the program's future. During this review, the city is shortening data retention from 28 to 14 days and consulting the district attorney about privacy, with a final decision on renewing, switching providers, or ending the program expected by spring 2027.
   

4. Boulder County committee recommends firefighting cistern easement in Sunshine Canyon (thebadger.news) — Boulder County's Parks and Open Space Advisory Committee is backing an easement for a buried 40,000‑gallon firefighting cistern along Sunshine Canyon Drive near Bald Mountain Open Space. The project would let fire engines pull off the road to access water quickly, improving wildfire response for nearby residents while keeping trailhead access open and restoring the site to a natural look after construction.
   

5. IEEE Global Humanitarian Technology Conference (GHTC 2026): Oct. 7 - 10 in Boulder, CO (ieee.org) — Boulder will host the IEEE Global Humanitarian Technology Conference October 7–10 at the University of Colorado Boulder's Mortensen Center, bringing together experts focused on technology for underserved communities worldwide. Local academics, nonprofits, and businesses are invited to register, attend keynotes, share case studies, and network with global humanitarian innovators.
